Contrary
to what one may think, an artist does not regret that her
work is not sold, but that it is sold. For, she resents that
a work of art which she shaped with her own hands and in which
she poured her heart and soul should now be serving someone
who paid for it and who, not being a connoisseur of art, perhaps
sees it as a mere ornament. So, what should the artist do?
Should she just keep all her works for herself? Of course
not. She should try to make sure that her works reach real
art-lovers and push aside all materialistic expectations.
